Strand + Strategy Communications: Over 30 Years in the Making

Technically, Strand + Strategy Communications officially started this year, but truth be told, it’s been in the making for over thirty. My journey began with a deep-rooted desire to connect with my community, a passion that was sparked when I was a kid. I’ll never forget the moment I stood shaking hands with the Mayor of the Township of Langley, accepting a writing award. This was adorable until I took that opportunity to ask the Mayor about plans for the overpass on 200th Street - Yes, this really happened, my parents were there as witnesses.

Anyone who knows me will tell you I love to talk. I’m extroverted and I thrive on conversation. But looking back, I think I’ve always equally enjoyed being a storyteller and a listener. When I was a kid, listening to bedtime stories was one of my favorite things. Those stories sparked my imagination and helped me understand the world. And in many ways, I’m still that kid - except now, instead of listening to Dr. Seuss for the two hundredth time, I’m listening to business owners talk about their challenges, successes and visions for the future. Whether I’m working on strategy, copywriting or speechwriting, I’m still listening, still finding meaning in the stories people share.

Strand + Strategy Communications is the culmination of all those years of listening. It’s about doing business with integrity, being community-minded, and putting people first. It’s about sharing stories with purpose and driving real impact through thoughtful communication.

So here we are. And I couldn’t be more excited about the future.
